Brighton & Hove Sands is part of national charity, Sands (Stillbirth and Neonatal Death Society - registered charity number 299679). We are one of a number of local Sands groups around the country, which exist to support bereaved parents in their area.

However, Brighton & Hove Sands is completely self-funding and receives no funding from national Sands nor any form of statutory funding. The management committee and befrienders who run the group all offer their services on a voluntary basis only.

The sole purpose of our group is to support bereaved parents and their families in the local area through our befriending service, regular support meetings and our website. The running costs of all of these activities are funded entirely through our own fundraising activities and through kind donations made by bereaved parents and their families.
