Waitrose on Western Road in Brighton will be raising funds for Brighton & Hove Sands from this Sunday 25 July as part of its Community Matters scheme. And we need your help.
Under the scheme, Waitrose gives £1,000 each month to participating stores to donate to three local causes, which are voted for by the supermarket’s employees. Shoppers are given a token at the checkout, which they then place in one of three boxes at the store exit in favour of their chosen charity.
This month, Brighton & Hove Sands has been chosen as one of the charities to receive funds from the supermarket chain.
So if you shop at Waitrose Western Road, please support Brighton & Hove Sands by putting your token in our box. The number of tokens in the Brighton & Hove Sands box determines the proportion of the £1,000 we receive, so the more tokens we collect, the more money we will raise. The boxes will be in the store for one month only, so please get along there as soon as you can, even if you’ve never shopped at Waitrose before.
Please also forward this email to your family and friends, so that they can help too.
Next support meeting
Dates to follow.
Support meetings are an opportunity to share thoughts and feelings with other bereaved parents in an informal environment. There is no set formula for the meetings. People can say as much or as little as they want, and everyone is welcome, regardless of how long ago their loss occurred. Mums, dads, grandparents, friends, aunts and uncles are all welcome to come to support meetings, as they are for anyone who has been affected by the loss of a baby.
Next business meeting
The next business meeting is being held on Sunday 19 September 2010, starting at 8pm. It will be held at Purl wool shop, 16 Upper Hamilton Road, Brighton BN1 5PF. Please send an email to julieh@freedom255.com if you would like to attend.
