Brighton & Hove Sands members walk to raise over £1,000 for our local group
A massive thank you (and well done) goes out to Andy Caines, our treasurer, Debbie Smith, and Clair Morton, for their recent fundraising efforts for Brighton & Hove Sands.

All three took part in the recent Just Walk event, starting at Goodwood, in May 2011. Andy walked 60km in aid of Brighton & Hove Sands and the Trevor Mann Baby Unit in memory of his son Morgan. He raised £775 for our group. Both Debbie and Clair walked 10km, raising £220 and £130 respectively.
Stall at Kemptown Carnival raises over £100 for B&H Sands
Sara Harris and Jennie Milner ran a Sands stall outside Sara's shop, the Brighton Framing Gallery, at the Kemptown Festival on 4 June 2011, raising over £100 for our local group. Sara and Jennie were aided by a team of bakers, who home-baked cakes to sell in aid of B&H Sands. Thanks to Sara and Jennie for all their efforts, and to all those who made cakes and helped man the stall, namely Candice, Nick, Denyce and Bradley. The stall was so successful that the team has been asked to do the same at the Brunswick Festival in August.
Hove support meeting
Support meetings are an opportunity to share thoughts and feelings with other bereaved parents in an informal environment. There is no set formula for the meetings. People can say as much or as little as they want, and everyone is welcome, regardless of how long ago their loss occurred. Mums, dads, grandparents, friends, aunts and uncles are all welcome to come to support meetings, as they are for anyone who has been affected by the loss of a baby.
The next support meeting will take place on Sunday 8 January 2012, starting at 8pm, at Hove Methodist Church (in the Narthex, through the main doors and up the stairs) on Portland Road in Hove. Please email mail@brightonandhovesands.co.uk if you would like to attend or text your befriender (if you have one).
